The Perfect Blackberry Sparkling Lemonade to Brighten Your Mood

08.20.17 - BY RSVP International

With the dog days of summer rolling to an end, there’s nothing that reminds us of kicking back on the patio more than a refreshing glass of lemonade. Add in some seasonal blackberries and a bit of sparkling water, and you have the perfect drink to cap off your summer!

It also helps that today is National Lemonade Day! So tart and sweet!

This drink is easy to make and comes together quickly if you have some sort of juicer. For ours, we chose the Citrus Juicer by the everyday gourmet® because it sits perfectly on top of any glass measuring cup for ease of use.

Now, gather your ingredients. You’ll need fresh lemons, blackberries, sugar, and sparkling water.

Cut your lemons in half and sit the juicer on top of the measuring cup. You can use any type of juicer. At RSVP International, we have multiple models from stainless steel to porcelain.

Squeeze the lemon juicer until you have about one cup of fresh lemon juice for your lemonade. Set that aside.

In a sauce pan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of blackberries and 1 cup of sugar. Turn the heat down and let simmer. Then strain.

Mix together one ounce of lemon juice, one ounce of blackberry syrup, and top with your favorite brand of sparkling water (*cough* La Croix *cough*). Feel free to add a spirit of your choice to really get into that end of summer mood.
