Breadstick Rattle Snakes

Say hello to the easiest appetizer recipe you’ll ever make. These Breadstick Rattle Snakes aren’t just cute, they are delicious. And easy. Did we mention easy, because they are SO easy.

First, you’ll need the RSVP Round Bamboo Skewers. Wrapping the dough around these skewers creates the squiggly, slithery shape of the snakes. If you want a longer slither, you can combine a few of them together before wrapping the dough around them. Just make sure that the skewers are well oiled so you can remove them easily when they’re done baking.

Don’t forget to use our recipe for Homemade Everything Bagel seasoning to really round out those tails!

Once you’ve removed the skewers from the rattlers, add a touch of cute with the chili pepper tongues! You can always substitute out the chili peppers for red peppers or something with a little less spice.

Serve these little Breadstick Rattle Snakes alongside a nice hot cup of Tomato Soup for a great kid-friendly lunch. Because nothing makes kids (or really cool adults) happier than being able to play with their food.

Breadstick Rattle Snakes

The easiest little critters you can make for a fun and festive treat. These Breadstick Rattle Snakes are great for dipping or eating on their own.

  • 1
    Roll Pizza Dough
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Black olives for eyes
  • Dried chili peppers for "tongue"
  • Garlic powder

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

Roll out pre-made pizza dough. Take skewers and lightly oil them. Cut pizza dough into 12 - 2inch strips and roll each strip into rope shape. Wrap dough around skewer. Place on baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Brush lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Cut black olives into small pieces and add as eyes. Sprinkle tails with Everything Bagel Seasoning. Bake for 11-15 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove from oven and cut a small hole for it's mouth. Place a small sliver of dried red chili pepper as the tongue. Serve warm with a dip or tomato soup.
