Candy Corn Cream Cheese Brownies

10.10.18 - BY Nona Raybern

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Which means it’s time to eat candy corn and make brownies! But wait, what if we could combine the two to make Candy Corn Cream Cheese Brownies?

“No, we can’t,” you say to yourself, thinking about how the explosion of flavor might actually ruin all other brownies for you. Well, sorry to say, these brownies are going to be the ones that take over your life every Halloween. And every party you bring them to, they’re going to ask for the recipe.

We adapted this super delicious Cheesecake Swirl Brownie recipe from Yammie’s Noshery for this Halloween treat.

The cream cheese in these brownies is an absolute must, not only because they add the fun swirls of color, but they also cut down on the sweetness of the candy corn. To get the candy corn look, you can use all orange food coloring.

Then, using the back end of a spoon, make a channel in the brownie mixture and pour in the cheesecake batter in stripes.

Using the same end of the spoon that dug those ditches, swirl that batter around like you’re in the 1970’s and having a delightful little disco party. If you have a disco ball, now would be the time to light that baby up.

Bake your concoction for 40 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle some candy corn on top. Put it back into the overn and bake for another 5-10 minutes, depending on if you like your brownies more gooey or more firm.

So what RSVP product would we recommend? The Ann Marie’s Brownie Spatula, of course! Look at that beauty down there.

The Ann Marie’s Brownie Spatula is one of those essential tools for the brownie lover. The flexibility of the spatula end allows you to get into the pan without breaking or squishing your brownie square. We highly recommend this tool and so do our customers, as it’s one of our best sellers!

  • 1 1/2
    Cup
    Flour
  • 1 1/4
    Cup
    Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 1
    Tsp
    Baking Powder
  • 1
    Cup
    Butter, melted
  • 2 1/4
    Cup
    Sugar
  • 4
    Eggs
  • 1
    Tbs
    Vanilla extract
  • Candy Corn, to sprinkle on top

Cream Cheese Batter

  • 8
    oz.
    Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2
    Cup
    Sour cream
  • 1/2
    Cup
    Sugar
  • 1/2
    Tsp
    Vanilla extract
  • 1
    Egg
  • Orange gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Butter and flour a 9x13 in. pan. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. In a large bowl, melt the butter with the sugar in the microwave and whisk. Allow to cool for at least ten minutes. Add the eggs and vanilla, whisk until smooth. Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and flour and mix well to combined. Pour the batter into the pan.

In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, egg, and food coloring.

Make about one long ditch at a time in the brownie batter with a spoon and fill it with the cream cheese mixture. You'll probably need about 5 trenches going across the long side of the pan.

Take the end of the spoon and swirl the cheesecake batter the opposite direction of the trenches.

Bake for 40 minutes, then remove from oven. Sprinkle candy corn on top. Bake another 5-10 minutes.

If using boxed brownie mix, halve the cream cheese mixture and use 8x8 in pan.
