There are few things in this world more satisfying than an icy cold beverage on a hot summer day. Especially with the temperatures reaching the 80’s, 90’s, and even 100’s (you poor souls in Arizona), all you really want after work is a bevvy that will cool you down.
So why not go with something refreshing like a glass of Pomegranate Mojito Punch?
This recipe is so easy to throw together and has a little kick thanks to the help of some local ginger beer (we’re partial to Rachel’s Ginger Beer located here in beautiful Seattle!).All you need is the following:
1 bottle vodka (We like to keep it local with Sun Liquor UNXLD Vodka)
6 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
½ cup simple syrup (recipe here)
24 ounces pomegranate juice
2 packages fresh mint leaves (or fresh from the garden like we had!)
1 package mint leaves for garnishes
32 ounces Ginger Beer
Gently press the mint into the bottom of your pitcher with our Endurance® Mojito Muddler (#MUDD). This releases the essence of the mint without bruising the leaf. Next, add the vodka, lime juice, pomegranate juice, and simply syrup and stir. Fill your glass with ice and pour the mixture halfway up over the ice! Top the rest of the way with the Ginger Beer and garnish with mint leaves and you have yourself a class act of a cocktail. This can also be made without the alcohol! Just replace the vodka with club soda and you can serve it for kids of all ages!
So what does this recipe have to do with a Colander inside of a bowl of ice? Well, there is nothing worse than soupy and watery ice in your cocktail. It waters it down more than it ends up cooling your drink and really busts that flavor! This clever little hack has the colander drain the water away from the ice instead of just letting it wallow in its soupiness. Your drink stays crisp, cool, and delish.
