Preheat oven to 400°F.
Hasselback potatoes and place them in 8x8 or 9x13 baking dish.
Alternate slices of butter and thin garlic slices between each potato slice.
Brush or drizzle tops of potatoes with olive oil.
Salt & pepper potatoes.
Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes, basting each potato with butter from the pan every 20 minutes. Broil for 5 minutes for crispy top.
